Personally, this is a program that I have wanted to do for some time now. I was very close to starting the program back in 2013, but decided it would be better to get my feet under me in the classroom first. Now, with three years teaching experience under my belt, I am confident that I can enter and complete the program successfully, and be able to devote the amount of focus that will allow me to maximize the value of the program.

I am a lover of technology, and have been studying and experimenting with all sorts of technologies throughout my life. I am always striving to learn more, and push the application of my knowledge further, both in my personal life and in my profession as an educator. Because, of my natural curiosity for how technologies work and can be used, I have already acquired a fairly large technological skill set. I pride myself on being a leader at my school and district in integrating technology into the classroom, and want to continue to support myself, the staff, and the students at my school in this way.

Within the week, my school will begin interviewing for the position of Technology Coach in my building. I believe I am a strong candidate for this position, and hope to be devoting a large amount of my time in the coming years to supporting my school’s staff and students in utilizing technology in their teaching and learning. Participating in the MAET program at Michigan State University will aid me in my efforts to learn about and employ best practices when it comes to integrating technology in our school’s classrooms. I want to make my school a leader in 21st Century education, and the MAET program will allow me to acquire the knowledge and skills I need to make that a reality.
